Below this mechanism, an extending pneumatic support keeps pressure on the cutting point. Positioning wedges and supporting pieces establish how the assembly bears against its surroundings. Air connections, an oiler and suitable cutting tools complete its operating equipment. This configuration is used in stopes, raises, shafts and tunnel crowns.
