Description

Small Rock Drill Bits are precision-engineered drilling tools designed for small-scale rock breaking and hole drilling. Made of high-quality alloy materials, they feature sharp cutting edges and sturdy structures, delivering reliable performance in medium-hard rock formations. Small Rock Drill Bits are widely used in construction, mining, and municipal projects due to their compact size and efficient drilling capability.

Product Features

High-Efficiency Drilling

The cutting edge features a negative rake angle design, reducing rock penetration resistance by approximately 25%. Field tests demonstrate a 25% increase in drilling speed compared to standard small drill bits (in medium-hard rock).

Exceptional Durability

These Small Rock Drill Bits are crafted from select high-quality alloy materials and undergo vacuum heat treatment. A single bit can complete over 300 shallow holes (Φ32 × 500mm) during its service life.

Compact Design

These bits come in sizes from Φ8 to Φ20mm. They are not very long ≤200mm. This makes them perfect for rock drills. They are great for working in areas like when you need to drill through pipes or do demolition work inside a building.

Stable Precision

The teeth on these bits are made of alloy and are ground very carefully. This means that the holes they make are very precise and the size of the hole will not be off by, than ±0.8mm. This is really good because it means you do not need to use another tool to make the hole the right size.

Usage Guidelines

Rock Drill Compatibility

It is recommended to use lightweight rock drills with an impact energy of ≤50J to prevent excessive impact force from causing the alloy teeth to chip or fracture.

Maintain Appropriate Thrust

Due to the small diameter of these bits, excessive thrust can cause the drill rod to bend or result in hole deviation; thrust force should be maintained within the range of 100–200N.

Regular Dust Removal

When drilling depths exceed 300mm, periodically withdraw the drill bit to clear rock dust; this prevents clogging and minimizes drilling resistance.

Avoid Dry Drilling

Whenever feasible, employ wet drilling techniques (using a combined air-and-water supply); this extends the service life of the alloy teeth and significantly reduces airborne dust.

Monitor Wear

Inspect the height of the alloy teeth after every 10–20 holes drilled. If the teeth have worn down to one-third of their original height, they should be promptly resharpened or the bit replaced.

Resharpening Standards

Use a specialized diamond grinding wheel to maintain the original cutting edge angle. The material removal per resharpening pass should not exceed 0.5mm.

FAQ

Q: Can a worn-out drill bit be repaired?

A: Yes, it can. If the carbide teeth become dull, simply sharpen the cutting edges using a specialized grinding wheel. A single drill bit can typically be resharpened 2 to 3 times without any adverse effect on normal drilling performance.

Q: How do you drill holes in confined spaces?

A: We recommend using a lightweight, handheld drill with a compact body. You should also switch the connection fitting to a small-angle elbow or a flexible hose; this makes operation much easier in tight spots where there is no room to maneuver-such as in wall corners or between layers of piping.
